Make A Difference

Make a Difference

The Bridge Home is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. All donations are tax exempt. Tax identification #42-1252893.

Thank you for considering a partnership with The Bridge Home. It is only with your kindness and generosity that we can continue our mission to end the cycle of homelessness in our community. Your gifts of time, food, supplies, and donations are what keep our doors open to provide stability and a pathway forward in the lives of those most vulnerable.

Your gift will immediately provide meals, shelter, financial education, and care to men, women, and families experiencing and on the verge of homelessness in the Two Rivers Region.

Cash — and cash equivalents such as checks and credit cards — immediately benefit the people we serve and is often the most convenient and easiest form of giving. Your donation is tax-deductible.

For ways you can make a positive impact and create a lifetime of change, simply follow the instructions below to make a gift today!

Everyone appreciates a stocked pantry.  We cook alongside our shelter clients so they learn skills of preparing their own meals.  Also, some of our shelter clients are being housed in local motels. We much appreciate food items that can be prepared inside our clients’ motel rooms.

  • Canned goods
  • Coffee, tea bags, sugar
  • Microwavable meals
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cash and Gift Cards to local stores are greatly appreciated

*We cannot accept food donations expired or beyond their Sell By, Best By, Use By, or any other utilization date.

Due to our limited space, we are unable to accept most clothing donations. If you have clothing items to donate, please contact us at 515-232-8075. If we cannot accept your donation, we encourage you to contact our partner agency, Overflow Thrift Store. They accept a variety of items, including clothing and furniture. We provide our clients with vouchers to shop there for their specific needs.

Our volunteers have done fantastic work in our community, including household repairs, cleaning, painting, and gardening. Thank you for your willingness to donate your time and energy to help bridge the gap!

We walk alongside those who have fallen on hard times to help them find hope and a home.

With a passion and mission to support the underserved, we navigate those less fortunate than us through the barriers they encounter. We strive to bridge the gap between homelessness and housing to ensure individuals and families have access to shelter, a support system, and hope for a pathway forward.

Located in Ames, Iowa, The Bridge Home has been helping people since 1985. We serve the Two Rivers Region, including five counties in central Iowa — Story, Marshall, Boone, Greene, and Hardin.

We are a group of committed, passionate problem solvers who support each other and work together as a team. We value our employees and work with them to achieve their individual goals as well as our organizational objectives. We work in a professional, family-centered atmosphere and always remember to laugh and celebrate our successes.

As demand for our services continues to rise, so does our need for motivated, compassionate professionals to join our family.

It is the policy of this organization to provide equal opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual preference, age, or disability.
