Why would someone call 211?
- If you’re new to the community and need help finding childcare
- If you recently lost your job, unemployment benefits haven’t begun yet, and the refrigerator is nearly empty, 211 could direct you to a local food source.
- If you suspect your teenager is using alcohol and don’t know which agency to call first, 211 could help.
Local nonprofits have submitted information to the call center with their services so 211 callers can receive accurate information. This service is made possible by the United Ways of Story County, Central Iowa, Midland, Quad Cities; Iowa State University Extension and Outreach; and Gundersen Health System.
